Support for Baby Steps and Life Leaps

Support for Baby Steps and Life Leaps

At the time of this posting, we are 57 days into 2016. For those of us who made New Year's resolutions, the two-month mark is an important milestone. If you've stuck with it all this time, you are probably starting to feel the difference in your life. If you've faltered, this might be the point where you throw in the towel.
Those in the latter camp may want to reconsider. There is still 85 percent of the year left, after all, but who's counting? Positive changes all share one very useful trait: they can begin any hour of any day. Even if you've gotten off to a shaky start, it's never too late to hit the reset button.
For people caring for an older adult, many resolutions have something else in common: they take a village. Or at least a trusted support system. Whether your #goals are about the way you care for others (i.e. being more patient, helping them be more active, helping them be safer) or the way you find balance in your life (maintaining your own health and fitness, making time for all the people you love, keeping up at work), the road is much harder if you try to go it alone.
At Caregiverstress.com, we offer a wealth of resources for families dealing with aging issues from health and well-being, to finances, to difficult conversations – and everything in between. Families facing dementia issues have an additional resource in helpforalzheimersfamilies.com. In both cases, visitors will find a comprehensive mix of expert advice, downloadable tools and opportunities to share with others who are in a similar situation. Both are great sites for those who need a little kick start to their New Year's – or any time -- resolutions.
