This is an
exciting month at Fellowship Square-Mesa: lifelong learning classes, book
studies and trips to local theaters plus Mother’s Day and Memorial Day
celebrations.
May 4 – On
this day we celebrate the National Day of Prayer with a special service lead by
our own Chaplain Dan.
May 6 –
Residents attend a live theatre performance titled, No Time for Sergeants, at The Hale Theater in Chandler, AZ. The
play was originally produced as a book and a movie (No Time for Sergeants, 1958, starring Andy Griffin). It’s
hilarious!
May 12 – Our
Mother’s Day Celebration is a special time to honor all of those women in our
lives who have impacted and influenced who we are today.
May 20 – Our
Lifelong Learning classes begin a two-part book study on a recently published
book titled, A Piece of the World.
The book was written by Christina Baker Kline (who also wrote a book we studied
titled The Orphan Train). A Piece of the
World is about a woman who was frequently featured in paintings by Andrew
Wyeth. The Lifelong Learning program also studied the life of the well-known
family of artists, the Wyeth Family, and Andrew Wyeth.
May 29 – We
finish the month with a series of events and classes honoring all American
Veterans.
